Wobbly Line Drawing

Discover wobbly line sketching, a relaxed and expressive drawing method, with artist Deborah Smalley.

Come and learn a simple but effective technique taught to a small group in a fun, supportive environment.

No drawing experience is necessary, because anyone can draw with wobbly lines!

Wobbly line drawing is popular with urban sketchers around the world and is all about drawing on location, in the moment, and without perfectionism. The technique embraces loose, slightly irregular lines that capture energy, movement, and character rather than exact detail.

We’ll be sketching en plein air (outdoors), weather permitting, so please bring your own folding chair or stool, comfy walking shoes, and a hat for sun or an umbrella for rain. All drawing materials are provided.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of background or skill level.

Ages: 15 and up, including adults
Cost: $5
