Join Markus for a workshop that is fun, informative and very entertaining.

Markus will share tips and tricks on all the general plant care required to set you on your way to being an avid indoor plant enthusiast. From re-potting, to trimming, to propagating, to fertiliser and pests and diseases, this workshop goes through it all.

Questions are encouraged as the hour rolls along, and bring in photos of your sick plant babies as they can be up for discussion.

His engaging personality and lust for living life to the full is the foundation for his sessions and ensures each attendee feels welcome and comfortable being in the space and everyone leaves with a head full of plant informations plus also a great big smile on their face.

A plant sale concludes the session and one on one questions are answered.

This event will take place at Kauri Community and Sports Centre (Kauri Parade and & Scholefield Road, Seacliff ). Please note the entry to the venue is via Lispon Avenue.

Presenter Bio

Markus Hamence is a practising Interior Designer and also a lecturer of Interior Design with TafeSA with a love of Indoor Plants that has been nurtured since being a child. Being self-taught from a young age while accompanied with a solid study of Plants, Markus has gathered his vast knowledge through extensive trial, experimentation and exploration. His love of foliage has seen his creation ’The Botanic Designer’ come to life.

“The coming together of good Interior Design and Indoor Plants creates a wonderful blend and perfectly calming space to dwell in – a calming sanctuary that reflects the occupants needs & personality to feel at one with their environment.” Markus says.

His own home boasts over 400+ indoor plants (as seen on South Aussie with Cosi) and though does not encourage others to follow suit to this quantity unless you know what you’re in for, he certainly ensures a home becomes more pleasant with the addition of one or two placed here and there.

Most recently Markus can be seen on the new Channel Nine show ’The Garden Hustle’ with Lisa McCune as the host where he offers his expertise as the ‘Garden Guru’. “There is a plant that suits even the blackest of thumbs, it’s all about arming yourself with the knowledge with what to select for an certain individual’s needs depending on their lifestyle and of course their current knowledge of plant care” Markus explains.
