Introduction to Glass Engraving

Join our Makerspace Staff for an introduction session to learn how to make low-cost, personalised engraved gifts for friends and family using the xTool laser cutter at the Parks Makerspace.

In this session you will learn about how our xTool P2 laser cutter is able to be used to directly engrave on to glass, there will be demonstrations of the software and the safety aspect of this process.

This will also include a demonstration of the rotary tool that we have available in the makerspace, as well as the best types of glass to use and how creative you can get with this system.

This will be beginner friendly, and participants will leave with a personalised sample by the end of the session.

Skill Level: Beginner friendly (basic computer skills).

Important Safety Information for accessing the Parks Makerspace:

The Parks Makerspace has an enclosed-toed shoe policy; staff have the right to refuse entry to the makerspace if you are wearing inappropriate footwear. This is our basic safety requirement for anyone using the makerspace.
