Experience South Australia’s First Bilingual French and English Story

Join renowned Language Specialist and Pop Culture Historian Stuart A Blair for a special celebration of his new bilingual storybook, Les Aventures de Paris et Freddie, the first French and English bilingual storybook, including Auslan created and set in South Australia. This book is suitable for readers from year 6 through to adult language students.

Les Aventures de Paris et Freddie combines the magic of a bande dessinée (French Comic Book) with the charm of a traditional storybook and is set in the Fleurieu Peninsula. When the wicked Fabian Desrosiers kidnaps rising opera star Sophie Theriort, only her fearless friends, Paris and Freddie, can save her!

Enjoy a live reading, explore the history of comics and gain insights into Stuart’s collaboration with illustrator Joanna Hassam, including her creative process. Joanna will lead a drawing tutorial, giving you the chance to try your hand at illustration!

At the end of the presentation, take your time exploring Stuart’s fascinating collection of pop culture memorabilia at your own pace.

Books will be available for purchase and signing.
