Juvenilia Exhibition
AT UNLEY CIVIC LIBRARY Juvenilia Exhibition The Juvenilia Exhibition brings together the juvenile works...
Join Lea McInerney and Kara McEwen as they discuss Vince Copley’s memoir The Wonder of Little Things.
Writer Lea McInerney grew up in the Clare Valley, on the traditional lands of the Ngadjuri people. In 2016 she met Ngadjuri Elder Vince Copley and together they worked on Vince’s autobiography.
Born on a government mission in South Australia, Vince passed away in 2022, aged 85. A man of humble origins, Vince dedicated his life to making the world a better place for Indigenous Australians.
Kara McEwen is Vince’s daughter. Growing up she thought it was normal for everybody’s dad to travel the world, meeting people like Queen Elizabeth II and Muhammad Ali. She is extremely proud of her extraordinary father, whose primary motivation for writing the book was to share the events of his life with his children.
Crafted from oral storytelling of approximately 300 recollections, The Wonder of Little Things is Vince’s story of finding kindness in the midst of prejudice and joy in living life to the full. The book will be available for sale on the day courtesy of Meg’s Bookshop and there will also be a complimentary afternoon tea.
