Mercedes Mercier writes ‘just-one-more-page’ crime with twisting plots and relatable characters. She joins us at Ngutungka West Lakes to discuss her writing journey so far, and her second published novel, Black lies.
Black lies is the sequel to her bestselling novel White noise, and continues the story of Dr Laura Fleming, a criminal pyschologist who is called upon to convince a terminally ill inmate to confess the location of his victim before he dies.
Tension and menace … Mercedes Mercier wields exceptional talent to keep the reader flipping pages – Candice Fox.
As well as writing books, Mercedes is an Adelaide local who works in the criminal justice system.
Her book will be available for sale on the day (EFTPOS only) and a signing will follow after the talk.
Bookings are essential.

By attending this event I understand photos are often taken during events and may be used for promotional purposes, which may include, but not limited to social media, newsletter, website and printed publications for Libraries and City of Charles Sturt Council.
If I don’t wish to be photographed I will advise staff on the day.
The City of Charles Sturt would like to acknowledge the land we occupy today is the traditional lands of the Kaurna people and that we respect their spiritual relationship with their country. We also acknowledge the Kaurna people as the custodians of the greater Adelaide region and that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to the living Kaurna people today.
